AAO American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting 2011

The American Academy of Ophthalmology Annual Meeting was held this year in Orlando, Florida from the 22 – 25 October and was attended by almost 8,500 US and 5,000 international physicians.

With over 520 exhibitors and a vast exhibition space, the AAO provides Rayner with the opportunity to showcase Rayner products and expertise in IOL design and manufacturing, to a large number of cataract and refractive surgeons based in the USA, Canada and South America.

Traffic to the Booth was steady, with firm leads generated from US surgeons for the C-flex® and from international surgeons for our premium and toric lenses. Sulcoflex® continues to create a great deal of interest among all surgeons, especially following a Main Programme presentation by Dr. Nick Mamalis co-authored by Dr. Liliana Werner (both at John A. Moran Eye Center, Salt Lake City, Utah).

In addition to meeting surgeons on the Booth, the Rayner Team had the opportunity to meet and hold discussions with a number of our lens distributors from South America and around the world.

Rayner also organised an evening meeting for South American surgeons at which two surgeons – Dr Liliana Werner (Brazil) and Dr Pablo Andersson (Argentina) presented on their experiences with Sulcoflex® and T-flex® respectively.
