Injectable Capsular Support System

Rayner’s Centerring capsular support system is designed for use in complicated cataract surgery which may involve anterior capsular tears or zonular dehiscence and can provide superior support for IOLs intended for implantation in difficult cases.

Manufactured in three sizes, Centerring provides excellent capsular support for a variety of eye sizes. Each of the three sizes of Centerring are manufactured from PMMA and have two positioning holes to facilitate implantation.

The Inserter

The Centerring inserter (R-INS-1) is made from the highest quality non-corrosive and non-magnetic titanium to be strong and durable. Anodised in dark blue, the inserter does not glare under the operating room microscope lighting.

Implantation of the Centerring system

The injector has been designed for the clockwise, one-handed implantation of each of the three sizes of Centerring capsular tension rings.

1. The hook of the inserter is placed into the left positioning hole of the ring.

2. The inserter plunger is then released to allow the ring into the cannula of the inserter.

3. The Centerring capsular support system can then be inserted by guiding the exposed positioning hole into the capsule.

4. The inserter plunger is then depressed to allow the ring to re-emerge and extend into position inside the capsular bag, providing the necessary support.
